It is a book that has stuck with me. I lived for a semester in the Crimea and am endlessly fascinated with books about Russia and its neighbors. And it does sound like a classic. Her journey was remarkable. I read and reviewd a trilogy "Rachel's Secret," by Shelly Sanders. It started with the murder of Jews in Russia in 1903 and her journey to Siberia, China and finally the US. Siberia was a brutal place to live! Will have to check out the story.
